The National Weather Service has just hoisted a Winter Weather Advisory notice, which goes into effect at 11 a.m. today, May 7, and ends at 11 a.m. Friday, May 8, for areas above 7,000 feet.

That will be you, Mammoth! And you, June Lake, Crowley Lake, and most of Mono County, for that matter.

The NWS forecast is for snow, snow and more snow for the next few days, with as much as foot on the Sierra crest between this afternoon and tomorrow morning.

The rest of the weekend will also be cold and snowy, and a series of small winter storms are forecast to affect us intermittently into next week. It's also going to be cold. Hello Sierra Spring! For more, click here.
