Fiddlin' Pete and Neil Gelvin Concert, Aug. 27
Singer, songwriter, cowboy poet Fiddlin' Pete Watercott and guitarist Neil Gelvin return for a lively performance on the outdoor stage at The Gallery at Twin Lakes on Aug. 27 from 5:30 p.m. until dark. Art Event, Community Skis, Aug. 29
A community are event to showcase the work of many local artists will be held on Aug. 29 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.-ish. It is called The ODD (interpretations of oddness by several local artists). Hors d’ oeuvres will be served; drinks are community style: bring one to drink and one to share! Artists include: Dana Ellis, Laurel Stanford-Manning, Maggie Palchak, Marty Burgenbauch, Danielle Wynen, Bruce and Karen Licher, Kendra Knight, Kristen Schipke, Kristin Broumas, and Lori Michelon.

California Native Plant Society Plant Sale, Aug. 29
The Bristlecone Chapter of the California Native Plant Society will be having their annual native plant sale at the White Mountain Research Station, 3000 East Line St., Bishop from 9a.m. to 11a.m. flowers, shrubs and trees adapted to our area will be for sale. “Back to School: A Grand Day in the Park,” Aug. 29
This event will be from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29 on the grounds of the museum at 129 Mattly Avenue, Hess Park, Lee Vining. Lots of activities, old timers' stories, historic music, BBQ lunch, inside tours of the Upside Down House, a "visit from the past" by Nellie Bly O'Bryan who built the house and video program. The night before, Friday Aug. 28, is the annual catered dinner at the Community Center, with program and raffles, and another visit from the past, this time by school teacher Nora.
