Highway 395 Band & Burger Battle, July 17-28
Community members have an opportunity to vote for their favorite band as three musical acts compete on the Village stage starting 5 p.m. on Friday, July 17 as part of the Highway 395 Band and Burger Battle. The winning band returns for an encore on Saturday, July 18, during the Burger Battle, which starts at 4 p.m. In addition to the live music, attendees will have an opportunity to eat a portion of a burger from CJ's Grill, Lakanuki, Kitchen 53, Rafters, Basecamp and The Eatery and vote for the best one. The battle benefits Dave McCoy's nonprofit, Mammoth Lakes Foundation, which provides year-round theatre programming and offers free college education (books and tuition) to any Mono County resident and/or high school graduate who pursues an AA degree from Cero Coso Community College.

Coyote Plateau Wildflower Viewing, July 18
Join Friends of the Inyo and the California Native Plant Society Bristlecone Pine Chapter for an exploration of the Coyote Plateau with a special emphasis on alpine wildflowers. The group will explore the central plateau by 4WD, and some moderate hiking to look at flowers will be incorporated. Meet at 8:30 a.m. at Friends of the Inyo office at 819 N Barlow Ln., Bishop July 18. Coiled Fabric Baskets Workshop, July 18
Make a one-of-a-kind basket out of coiled clothesline wrapped in fabric. This CSA 1 workshop will be help from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, July 18 at the Crowley Lake Community Center.
