The Weather Ahead This Week

A series of warm, sunny days at near normal seasonal temperatures will give way to a wetter pattern beginning Thursday, June 4, National Weather Service forecasters said. By Friday, it is possible that moisture from the remnants of Hurricane Andre could get pulled into the Eastern Sierra, increasing the chances of rain, or as the NWS forecast indicated this morning, June 1, "abundant showers are likely Thursday through Saturday" in the forecast region, which extends to Susanville to the north and to about the Sherwin Grade area to the south. However, where these showers will fall and how much rain will fall is still in question; the NWS states it should be able to firm up the forecast in the next day or so. —WG
