Warm, Dry Weekend Ahead, Followed by Another Storm Next Week

Staff Writer

A warm, dry and mostly smoke-free weekend is ahead for the Eastern Sierra with plenty of sunshine and above-normal temperatures. The smoke from the Rough Fire should be much-reduced as firefighters have been able to make progress slowing the spread of the fire this week due to rain and cooler temperatures earlier this week. But don't get too comfortable; another short-lived cold front, possibly including rain and/or high elevation snow, is headed for the Eastern Sierra early next week. —WG
