Sonora, Tioga Close Again

The storm is expected to hinder travel plans above the 8,000 level and close high mountain passes temporarily.

Tioga Pass will close on May 13, at 8 p.m.; Sonora Pass closed this afternoon at 4 p.m., in advance of an incoming snowstorm that is expected to bring at least several inches and possibly a foot of snow to the higher elevations of Mono County, beginning Thursday.
A 'Hazardous Weather' alert has been posted by the National Weather Service for Mammoth Lakes and the Eastern Sierra. The storm is expected to last through Friday at least, with a slow, warming and drying trend for the weekend.—WG
