The society is seeking the public's help in adding to the collection. According to the department, "The Old Farts who no longer go to fires but can't stay away from the station are pulling together a history of the Mammoth Lakes Fire Department. Some of the categories that your photographs may go into are: Personal, Incidents, Social Activities, Picnic, Canoe Race, Stations, Chiefs, Commissioners, Family, Memorable Incidents, Apparatus, Training. All you have to do is scan, or take a photo on your smart phone, and send the photos to (all lower case letters and no spaces). If you want to donate any memorabilia or photos to the Historical Society, please drop them off at Station 1 on Main Street in Mammoth, or email us if you need help or more information."
