Salcido appointed to hospital board

Lynda Salcido has been appointed to the open seat on the Mammoth Hospital recently vacated by Dr. Don Sage.

The appointment was filled at the Dec. 16 2010 Southern Mono Healthcare District (SMHD) Board of Directors meeting, with a majority vote of 3:1 with five candidates applying for the seat (Salcido, Richard Vroman, Jon King, Michelle Mather and Kiara Raazi).

Salcido has served on the SMHD Board of Directors for 12 years, and has volunteered on other non-profit Boards prior to her serving in Mammoth. She holds a graduate degree in nursing administration, a degree as a registered nursing and public health nursing licensure for the State of California.

She is employed as the Director for the Mono County Public Health Department and was recently recognized for her 10 years of service.

Hospital board members expressed their feeling that it is necessary to have someone with Salcido’s experience and knowledge serving on their board with the direction of Healthcare reform.
