Snow today, snow tomorrow, snow on Wednesday... snow is forecast in the Mammoth area all week, with highs in the 30s and 40s and cold nights, according to the National Weather Service, before the snow slowly gives way to a warmer, dryer holiday weekend.
In fact, Mammoth Mountain received enough snow in the last few days to remain open for skiing and riding through Memorial Day, according to the Mountain. Lifts in operation from 7:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. are Broadway Express, Facelift Express and Chair 23. The gondola will reopen Friday, May 22 through Monday, May 25. The Mountain Bike Park and Adventure Center is scheduled to open on May 23.—WG
