Snow is on the way this week, possibly beginning Tuesday and lasting into Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
“A moist Pacific storm will move into the Sierra and western Nevada Tuesday and last into Thursday with periods of light rain and high elevation snow,” tonight’s NWS forecast (Monday, Nov.18) states. “Despite being weak, the storms will have plenty of moisture to work with.”
However, the bulk of the moisture will likely be north of Mono County, the forecast states, although that could change.
Five to ten inches above 9,000 feet is forecast by midnight Wednesday, according to Howard Sheckter, Mammoth’s amateur weather forecaster.
