Sibert, 51 and the mother of three daughters and a son, grew up in a U.S. Navy family, mostly in Pacific Grove (Monterey Peninsula) and in Connecticut.
She saw Mammoth for the first time when she and her husband visited after he was offered a position at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area.
“I love Mammoth,” she said. “My roots are deep here. I can’t imagine living anywhere else, and it was a great place for the kids to grow up. It’s been the best half of my life.”
Sibert worked for the town in the finance department, then moved on to help lead the TOT Enforcement Team, which since its inception has garnered over $700,000 in new revenue to the town’s general fund.
She currently works as an accountant at the Mammoth Water District.
She said she is distressed at the appearance of the town, which she calls “our backyard,” and vowed to lead the effort to clean it up.
“I would like to focus on rehabbing and maintaining what we have as a priority before we spend a lot of money building new big things,” she said.
