Aspen ski patroller Patricia Hileman, 49, died last week after being swept off a cliff in a small slide inside the boundaries of the ski area. “This is a shocking and tragic accident that deeply affects everyone in the company,” said Mike Kaplan, Aspen Skiing Co. president and chief executive. It was Colorado’sfirst avalanche fatality of the season.
