Convict Lake Cleanup, June 6
Join Friends of the Inyo to celebrate National Trails Day at Convict Lake!
Volunteers will assist the Friends of the Inyo Stewardship Crew with basic trail maintenance, a lake shore clean up, and planting live willows to help keep the lake and its riparian habitats healthy. Meet at south trailhead parking lot at 8:30 a.m. for a free bagel breakfast. Work will begin at 9 a.m. Those planning to attend should come prepared for any weather conditions and to get their hands dirty. W closed-toe shoes, long pants, and work appropriate clothing. Swim team invites prospective swimmers to June 7 carnival, sign-up
Come see what being a Mammoth Shark is all about on June 7. Join the Mammoth Lakes Swim Team for a fun-filled afternoon at Whitmore Pool.
There will be a free swim, carnival style games including sack races, dunk tank and more, a barbeque and a bake sale, raffles and prizes and a 50/50

Glass Mountain Summit Hike, June 13
The Friends of the Inyo will explore the 17,000-acre Glass Mountain Roadless Area on a hike to the peak's prominent summit. This is a strenuous all-day, steep, off trail hike with sometimes loose and rocky travel. The summit has extreme views of the Sierras, Whites and adjoining valleys. This roadless area is a potential recommended wilderness area under the Inyo National Forest's plan revision process. Estimated hiking time is six hours. Meet at Sawmill campground.
