The Weather This Week

Staff Writer

A prevailing southwest wind pattern will likely continue to bring more smoke into the Eastern Sierra this week, although as before, the smoky periods will be variable and affect various areas of the region differently. Temperatures will be normal until about Thursday when a possible cooling trend and high winds will kick in. However, the higher winds could bring critical fire weather as well. It isn't over until it's over for an Eastern Sierra already suffering from almost three weeks of smoky skies. Temperatures are expected to rebound over the holiday weekend and again, return to normal. —WG
