The Weather Ahead; Warming 'til Thursday Then Another Storm

Staff Writer

The snow outside can obscure the fact we are still behind normal snowpack for this time of year although the Southern Sierra is in better shape than the rest of the Sierra. Here is the latest Sierra-wide snowpack assessment from the Department of Water Resources, done on Nov. 25. The first official snowpack assessment which usually makes news is the Dec. 1 one and that will include local LADWP measurements as well on places like Mammoth Pass, Gem Lake and the like. In the meantime, the weather this week will slowly warm up until Thursday at which point another moderate storm will affect as. It will then dry out for the rest of the week and into the next week, according to the National Weather Service. — WG
