Snow entered the upcoming weekend forecasts for Mammoth and the Eastern Sierra, athough snowfall amounts remain a bit on the vague side.

By the time the weekend is finished, new snow could be measured in feet, not inches.

Keep up those snow dances, Mammoth!

From the National Weather Service in Reno:

"The weather pattern is expected to become wetter starting late Thursday night and through the weekend as multiple storm systems begin

 moving into the West Coast.

"These storms have potential for moderate to heavy rain and mountain snow during this period, especially in the Sierra. Snow levels will fluctuate during this period, with snow levels generally above 6,500 feet due to the sub-tropical nature of the moisture. Storms are expected to get progressively stronger and wetter into early next week.

"There remains a lot of uncertainty in the details through early next week, although confidence is rising with regard to a wetter overall pattern.

"If you have travel plans in the Sierra over the weekend or early next week, please remain aware of the changing weather conditions and keep updated with the latest weather forecasts."
