News Brief: More complaints on tent sales

Town rules regulators say they’ve received a number of complaints about tent sales in Mammoth—an old tune in a new bottle.

Specifically, Mammoth community development director Mark Wardlaw said most of the complaints were directed toward Mammoth Sporting Goods on Old Mammoth Road and at the new Value Sports zone in the Mammoth Luxury Outlet shopping mall.

Wardlaw made his remarks at Wednesday’s Town Council meeting.

“They do have permits,” he said, “but they are outside compliance” rules.

The council took no action on the matter.
