New rules for Town Cleanup Day

May 18, 2012

Town Cleanup Day is tomorrow (Saturday) in Mammoth, but it isn’t going to look the same.

Rather than distributing free, orange trash bags, the town this year is asking residents to use their own bags, and take them to one of seven cleanup stations around town.

The Town, in partnership with Mammoth Disposal and Sierra Conservation Project, will accept large bulky items (refrigerators, appliances, mattresses, etc.), heavy metal (not talking music here, and no construction waste), recyclable materials (plastic, glass, etc.) and hazardous items.

Also, bring along pine cones, needles and tree limbs less than 12 inches in diameter, and the USFS and MLFD will chip these materials for free.
