Joyce Turner to Measure U Committee

The Mammoth Town Council Wednesday named Joyce Turner to the Measure U steering committee. She replaces John Wentworth, who recused himself from the committee because of a conflict of interest. The committee is a council-appointed group who will vet Measure U applications as they come in.

Turner, the wife of Mammoth Brewing’s Sean Turner (recreation commissioner) was one of four people who interviewed for the job. All the councilmembers said each of the candidates had worthy credentials, but they settled on Turner in a unanimous vote.

“You could choose any one of them,” said Councilman John Eastman. “It’s a can’t-lose proposition.”
