Devils Postpile talks, walks kick off this week

UPCOMING WALKS AND CAMPFIRE PROGRAMS AT DEVILS POSTPILE

Now that the Reds Meadow Road is open again, there is a lot going on in the Valley. Here's a summary of some of the events:

Ranger-led walk to Devils Postpile
This 1 hour, 1 mile walk includes topics such as wildlife, resource conservation, and the geology of the Devils Postpile formation. It begins every day at 11:00am at the Devils Postpile Ranger Station (shuttle stop #6).

Evening Campfire Programs
Join a ranger every Friday and Saturday night at 9:00pm for a 45 minute program about one of the many things that makes Devils Postpile such an amazing place. Meet at the Devils Postpile amphitheater next to the Ranger Station.

Join a ranger to learn about the history of our relationship with fire throughout the ages and the effects it has on the wilderness today.

Saturday, July 7th
Panning out the Postpile
Join a ranger to learn about the life and times of prospectors in and around Devils Postpile National Monument.

Friday, July 13th
A River Runs Through It
Join a ranger to learn about how the life of a river intertwines with the life of our community.

Saturday, July 14th
Panning out the Postpile
Join a ranger to learn about the life and times of prospectors in and around Devils Postpile National Monument.

Friday, July 20th
Coyotes!
Join a ranger to learn all about the animal that we love to hate and hate to love.

Saturday, July 21st
Panning out the Postpile
