Snowboarder Chelone â€śChillyâ€ť Miller, a 29-year-old Mammoth transplant from New Hampshire and the brother of skier Bode Miller, died on Sunday, April 7, according to Mono County Sheriffâ€™s authorities.
Miller â€śwas found unresponsive in his van in the Mammoth Lakes area at 12:45 p.m.,â€ť the Sheriffâ€™s Office said in a news release.
â€śMono County paramedics, Mammoth Lakes Fire Department, Mammoth Lakes Police Department and Mono County Sheriffâ€™s Deputies were dispatched to the scene.
â€śUpon arrival, it was determined that Miller was deceased.
â€śCause of death is currently being investigated by the Mono County Sheriffâ€™s Department pending autopsy results.
â€śFoul play is not suspected in the cause of death.â€ť
Miller burst onto the snowboarding scene at about the same he burst onto the trail bike scene. In 2005, Miller was involved in a dirt bike accident that left him in a coma for 11 days.
Upon recovering, he moved to Mammoth for the world-class park jumps in the terrain parks at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area.
