Adult Softball League starts playoffs; XRC favorite in men’s division, wide open in co-ed tourney

Mammoth’s softball teams finish their seasons this week with dizzying rounds of multiple playoffs.

Monday, Aug. 27, is the start of the single-elimination playoffs, with Greyhawk, Originales, Grumpy’s Holy Rollers, Austria Hof-Thunderstruck, Guerreros and Los Mayas in the hunt.

As a reward for finishing first in the regular season, XRC won a first-round bye.

On Tuesday and Thursday, the two Co-ed Divisions (14 teams total) begin tournament play, and to try to name a favorite would be futile.

Shadow Crew, Colocktower, I’d Hit That and Presson Construction all are in the hunt in the A Division, while Black Tie’s first-place seeding ss being challenged by the up-and-coming E-Z Duzit and Grace Church.

The action begins at Shady Rest Park each evening at 5 p.m. and continues until dark
