Fido & Me Commander in Chief

January 11, 2013

“Hey hey hey hey!” Fido yelled over his shoulder. “I am really like-like-LIKING this guy!”

Fido got a big goofy grin on his face.

“We’ve been talking! He likes the same things I do!”

“Wow that’s good to hear, Big Boy. You never know how a cat is going to fit in.”

“He’ll be just GREAT!” Fido said. He nuzzled the cat and whispered something in the cat’s ear.

I want to give kudos to Double Eagle Resort and its staff for their efforts and investment in creating a new cross-country skiing opportunity in June Lake.

Are our airline subsidies working against us?

This is our experience-you decide.

Flying home to Mammoth from our vacation, we over-nighted in Dallas.  The next morning, Dec. 19 , we got up at 2:30 a.m. to catch the early flight to LAX in order to make the morning flight on Alaska/Horizon Air to Mammoth.   We purposely had booked that flight so we could get back to work that afternoon during this busy holiday period.

To all my wonderful patients

January 11, 2013

I have received great personal reward from dentistry over the years, but the time has come for me to retire from private practice.

Although I won’t be seeing you in my office, you and your family will remain in my thoughts. I appreciate the confidence you have placed in me by allowing me to serve your dental needs.

Mono County

January 11, 2013

We went looking for the face of Mono County this week, but we didn’t find it.

We tried straining our ears for the voice of Mono County, but it was so quiet in Bridgeport that all we heard was the breeze fanning the fog over the Mono Basin and the occasional—and distant—roar of a snowmobile.

The curious vacuum in the county’s halls of politics has taken nearly everyone by surprise.

Jeremy Jones says he has a good idea what the worst job in the mountains might be.
