“Hey who turned out the lights?” Fido demanded.
“Fido, the lights are on. Nobody has turned them off.”
“No, I mean outside. I get up in the morning and it’s dark on our morning walk. When we get home, it’s dark again.”
“It’s just the season, Fido.”

‘Campo Mammoth’ replaces Hyde
Mammoth Mountain Ski Area has done it again: opened up a new restaurant and upped the ante for a pleasant dining experience.
This time we welcome Campo Mammoth at the Village in the space formerly occupied by Hyde. It opens today (Friday), just in time for the holiday rush.
It’s been a month since Opening Day and so far, the season has certainly packed a punch.
If you were in town the few weeks prior to Opening Day, you witnessed how the pace changes to a very excited, almost frantic behavior from all the local workers and business owners.
There is nothing in a ski town quite like Opening Day, and this one had lots of expectations behind it (especially after last winter). Allow me to recap.
Main Lodge opener
As soon as the Thanksgiving leftovers have been put away, a parade of Christmastime entertainment steps into center stage.
Twirling the golden baton are the holiday-themed movies more heartwarming than hot cocoa, and Christmas carols endlessly streaming on the radio. Oh, and that’s just the beginning!
A majority of yuletide stories are based on Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” The protagonist doesn’t believe in the Christmas spirit until he is confronted with his own cynicism, and has to inspire Christmas joy in others.
