Chad Hall blisters Half Marathon field

When a long-distance running fan hears the name “Hall,” it is usually associated with marathon superstar Ryan.

But last Sunday, June 23, at the inaugural Mammoth Half Marathon, it was Ryan’s younger brother, Chad, who captured the imagination of the crowd, not to mention the other 1,200 runners in the field and $1,200 in prize money.

Meetings scheduled for July 8-9

It took new Mayor Rick Wood less than a week to make good on his promise to refine the town’s priorities for the next year and the foreseeable future.

Wood, in what he says is his final year on the council, called for a pair of unprecedented special town council meetings July 8 and July 9, characterizing them as “Strategic Planning Sessions.”

County budget meetings set

The Mono County Board of Supervisors is holding a series of meetings that will allow the public to get a look at the county’s preliminary budget, give input, and ask questions.

The meetings will be held in most of the county’s communities this summer.

The meetings will follow the same format in each community. Prior to the town hall meetings, county budget information will be posted at www.monocounty.ca.gov.

These budget town hall meetings will all be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
